CG to restore six schools in Bardia destroyed by floods
The Chaudhary Group (CG) has launched a project to restore six schools in Bardia destroyed by the recent floods at a cost of Rs 2 million
Likewise, CG has decided to gift educational materials and school uniforms to 75 students of Shree Prithivi Lower Secondary School of Beluwa, Bardia district. Their educational materials and school uniforms were swept away by the flood waters.
“We are committed to providing assistance to the students who were affected by the floods,” said the statement quoting CG President Binod Kumar Chaudhary. “They should not be deprived of education in any context.”
The six schools CG has selected for renovation are Shree Ekata Primary School (Bagnaha-8), Shree Himal Lower Secondary School (Mirchaya), Shree Prathamik School (Khailar, Bagnaha-7), Shree Mukta Kamaiya Primary School (Bagnaha-6), Shree Jan Jagriti Primary School (Ambasa) and Shree Guru Jan Shakti Primary School (Padnawa). They were completely devastated by the floods.
CG has dispatched its representatives to the affected areas to study the devastation caused by the floods. It obtained permission from the District Education Officer before assisting the schools and the students. The group has made special arrangements to ensure timely assistance to the victims.
This assistance is part of an initiative of the group’s corporate social responsibility. It has been also providing scholarships to students in Nawalparasi district under its Gyanodaya Scholarship programme every year.
