Talking about pricey threads, the domestic market will soon get to witness the launch of a suiting brand costing upwards of Rs 300,000.
Suman Bashyal
which carries a price tag ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 300,000 to cater to the demand of premium fabric seekers.
The company will make a foray into the domestic market with the opening of its maiden store on Durbar Marg, Kathmandu. The state-of-the-art showroom will be spread over an area of 1,200 sq ft and will boast premium features.
According to the company, the premium suiting brand will be entering the Nepali market by mid-February. Akhil Chapagain, chairman of the company,
said that after surveying the market, they decided to bring the suits in the domestic market. “And after completing our survey, we found out that the market is mature for this premium outfit brand.” he said.
He added that the suits were especially targeted at quality conscious people for whom quality counts much more than price. “Those who value brand and seek quality and style will be our customers,” he said, adding that the company wasn’t expecting a huge business volume in the first few years.
Established in 1944, Sarar has a presence in the US, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Israel, the UAE, France, Lebanon, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iran, Greece and Russia among other countries. “The brand will first bring suits for men, and later we are preparing to launch the entire range including women’s wear and casual wear,” Chapagain said.
According to Chapagain, there will be a wide range of suits of Sartorio which will be the most expensive costing Rs 300,000 in the domestic market. “This will cater to the demand for luxurious wear from business tycoons and government VVIPs,” he said.
“We expect that buyers will be amused to see the unique array of design. Most of the parts are handmade, and the fabrics
used in the suits are most exclusive and carefully woven,” Chapagain added. According to him, the measurements will be taken in Nepal and the suits will be stitched in Turkey where experienced designers will do the needful.
Apart from the premium range, the company is also planning to bring a medium range of clothes targeting youngsters named Interview. “We have already started receiving pre-bookings and orders
for the suits, and we hope the brand will do well catering to the desire of fashion lovers in Nepal,” he said.
