The breakaway Thapa faction held a separate meeting at Newa State Committee office in Kupandole and elected Thapa as its coordinator.
Central Committee member Ramdip Acharya informed a majority of the CC members agreed to move ahead with the unity with the mother party, UPCN (Maoist). "Baidhya comrade halted unity measures by postponing the meeting for indefinite period. We decided to scrape that decision and finalise unity with the mother party," said Acharya.
Of the total 190 CC members, 130 members have endorsed the unification process with Dahal-led Maoist.
The meeting, meanwhile, endorsed the 12-point agreement with the UCPN (Maoist) and decided to finalise the unification process within a week.
