The Special Court on Sunday allowed CIAA to remand journalist and Sajha Yatayat Chairman Kanak Mani Dixit into 10-day custody.

The anti-graft body had sought 30-day custody of Dixit for investigating his alleged involvement in corruption.

A joint bench of Judges Mohan Raman Bhattarai, Mahesh Prasad Pudasaini and Prabha Basnet gave a verdict to remand Dixit in 10-day judicial custody starting from the date of his arrest i.e. April 22.

The Special Court also ordered CIAA to arrange for his proper medical treatment and allow him to meet legal advisors.

Dixit is currently in Bir Hospital receiving treatment for heart ailment.
