A child died and nine others got injured when a Tata Sumo jeep met an accident at Bhainse-7, Trikhandi along the Tribhuvan Highway on Thursday noon.

The Kathmandu-bound jeep bearing registration number plate Ba 1 Ja 2009 plunged some 15 metres off the road near Trikhandi Temple.

Four- year-old Basu Koirala died while undergoing treatment. The injured are being treated at Hetauda hospital.  Seven of the injured are in a critical condition, it is leanrt.

Police said the jeep’s driver has fled the scene.
