Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar on Tuesday met leaders of the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM).
During the meeting, Jaishankar enquired about the status of Madhes agitation and recent activities of the Madhes-based parties.
The Morcha delegation told Jaishankar that the government had not addressed their demands. They said that they have issued an ultimatum to the government to address the demands by mid-April.
Morcha leaders present in the meeting told the Post that they sought “more active role of India in resolving remaining demands, including the revision of federal boundaries”. They lamented that the establishment in New Delhi “was not doing enough to press Kathmandu to address their concerns”.
