Cadres of agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) on Wednesday tried to vandalise the residence of CPN-UML leader Mahadav Kumar Nepal here in Gaur Municipality-2 in Rautahat district. The baton-wielding Morcha cadres vented their ire at the main gate of UML leader.

The SLMM cadres have been repeatedly attempting to attack the former prime minister’s residence saying that the new constitution have discriminated against Madhesi people the ruling parties showed reluctance to address their demands including review of the federal state demarcation.

Three weeks back, the Morcha cadres carrying pebbles, brickbats and rods attempted to attack Nepal’s residence but the heavily deployed security personnel intervened and chased them away.

Leader Nepal was elected in the second Constituent Assembly elections from the constituency.

Former CPN-UML district leader Rewanata Jha, who assisted Nepal in the election, have been leading the ongoing agitation of Madhesi  Morcha.

The CPN-UML has been condemning the repeated attempts to attack leader Nepal’s residence.
