Sonam Lama from Nepal has been awarded one of the “Disney Conservation Hero 2015” by the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF). He has been awarded along with 21 other recipients.
Sonam Lama, the Chairperson of Red Panda Network established a Youth Library and Study Center and launched 16 of Jane Goodall’s Red Panda Roots and Shoots environmental clubs for youth in Eastern Nepal. He also trains and mobilises a Red Panda Conservation Committee on conservation and sustainable tourism along with other conservation works.
A Nepali documentary on Red Panda titled “Conserving the Red Panda’ by Red Panda Network has been selected for Best Category Film Award in the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival (WCFF) in New York.
