Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state monopoly in the supply of petroleum products, has argued that there was transparency in the distribution of petroleum products from the Corporation.

Talking to RSS, NOC Deputy Executive Officer Sushil Bhattarai said there was no problem in the supplies of petroleum products allocated by the Corporation to the market. The NOC statement regarding the distribution of petro products came in the wake of alleged black marketing of fuel by petro dealers. "The NOC is the whole seller of petro products and is unaware of its retail in the markets." However, it was committed to taking immediate action if any petro dealers were found to be indulging in black market.

Rampant black market of petro products has been reported amid a severe fuel crisis resulting from obstructions in supplies as a result of blockade by India.
