Islamic New Year Hasari Sambat 1437 began from Wednesday.
The Hijari calendar is used to date events such as observing annual fasting or Ramadan, attending Hajj, and celebrating other Islamic holidays and festivals.
There are twelve months in this calendar. Muslims observe the holy month of fasting and prayers on the ninth month of Ramadan while Hajj pilgrimage is performed on the 12th month called Dhu al-Hijjah. Bakr Eid is also celebrated on the 12th festival.
