Twenty one Nepal Police units outside Rautahat district headquarters Gaur have been shifted to Regional Police Office premises in view of the recent violence that has marred the district.

Armed Police Force has also evacuated its personnel from one of its base in the district.

The security agencies adopted safety measures as locals reportedly tried to vandalise and set fire to the Mathiya police station after Raj Kishor Thakur of Mathiya VDC-6 who sustained bullet injuries during demonstrations died yesterday in course of treatment.
