Public holiday on July 20-21 for public feedback on statute
The government has announced public holiday on July 20 and 21 for soliciting public feedback on the preliminary draft of a new constitution.

A Cabinet meeting on Friday decided to announce public holiday on these two days with an objective to ensure maximum number of participation in the public opinion collection campaign, Minister for Information and Communications Minendra Rijal, also the spokesperson of the government, informed.
All lawmakers and government officials have been deployed to collect feedback from today.
Likewise, July 19 was declared as public holiday on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr. Eid is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
The government decided to provide Rs 600,000 financial support to the relatives of Kanchan Kumari Thakur of Bara Kalaiya who died in course of treatment. Thakur was a rape victim.
Similarly, the meeting has decided to provide an equivalent financial support to the relatives of the Indian national Ashish Sah who was abducted and killed in Kalaiya.
The government has appointed Dr Kula Bahadur Basnet as the Vice-chair of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and promoted Dr Kiran Regmi and Dr Madhudev Bhattarai to the twelfth rank in the Nepal Health Service.
Likewise, the meeting has extended the term of Local Peace Committee by the mid-July 2073 BS and the term of Relief and Resettlement Unit by mid-January 2072 BS.
The meeting extended the term of Executive Vice-chair of the Poor Household Support Board as well. Similarly, the meeting further decided to provide Rs 30,000 annually to Dr Swami Prapannacharya throughout his life.
