The programme went on for four hours, where artist BK painted on a 7.8 metre long and 45 inches tall canvas. The artists decided on the size of the painting in accordance with the relations the figures had with the great disaster and the time of the execution of the painting—the earthquake that first hit Nepal was of 7.8 magnitude and the painting was being painted after 45 days of the disaster.

Through the painting, the artist has tried to represent the overall setting of the quake and the great tragedy it caused to the nation.

It deals with various themes like loss, pain, grief, resilience, determination and peace. Speaking about the structure of the work, BK said: "The colour red, which I have made comparatively less use of, symbolises the feelings of pain and desperation of the people. I have used white in abundance, though. White is the colour of purity and resilience."

The painting, initially priced at Rs 1,000,000, is planned to be auctioned. The amount collected from the sale will be deposited to the PM's Disaster Relief Fund.
