Bipana Thapa in Nepal to provide relief
Film actor Bipana Thapa, who has been residing in India after her marriage, is in Nepal and recently got done with distributing relief material worth Rs 2.5 millionThapa, along with her husband Dr Ashutosh Bhardwaj, distributed 1,100 blankets, 1,000 mattresses, five tonnes of rice, one tonne salt, 500 kg of pulses, 500 kg of sugar and 1,000 cakes of soap to 750 households in the two districts.
The relief supplies went to families in Wards 6, 7 and 9 of Nagarjun Municipality in Kathmandu and Wards 1, 3, 4 and 6 of Baluwapati VDC in Kavrepalanchok. The collection and distribution of relief material was done through the Shrimati Sharadadevi Sewa Foundation of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, which was established in the memory of Thapa’s mother-in-law.
“I have helped the victims as a human being and not as a film actor,” said Thapa, who is also the chairperson of the foundation. “I know this help is not a lot, but I did the best I could in this time of crisis.”
Earlier, Thapa had also sent three trucks of foodstuff and one van of medical supplies to the government.
