Radio Kantipur to run music show for change
With the Nepali people trying to cope with the disaster and lead normal lives again, efforts to help them heal are starting to gain momentum.
The show will have dozens of artists performing live music from 8 am to 8 pm at Radio Kantipur’s studio in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, The programme will be aired live on Radio Kantipur and will also be broadcast online on radiokantipur.com.
According to Raymon Das Shrestha, coordinator of the programme, well-known artists who perform different genres of music, like adhunik, pop, rap, and rock will be performing on the show. Artists like Ram Krishna Dhakal, Satya Raj Acharya, Swarup Raj Acharya, Rajesh Payal Rai, Uday and Manila Sotang, and Dharmendra Sewan will sing adhunik songs, while artists like Sugam Pokharel, Pramod Kharel, Lochan Rijal, Kamal Khatri, Shreya Sotang and Milan Amatya will entertain the listeners with their pop numbers.
Apart from individual artists, the show will also see acts like Kutumba, 1974 AD, Mukti and Revival, Robin and the New Revolution, Underside, Night, Tumbleweed, Nirnaya the NSK and Girish and friends. The show, which will be emceed by Radio Kantipur hosts, will start with a special performance by Aani Chhoying Dolma. Radio Kantipur, Nepal’s oldest private radio station, has been continuously broadcasting news and information from different parts of the country despite the adverse situation brought about by the disaster.
