Ecan provides support
The Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) has distributed rice, tarpaulins, foodstuff and clothes to a total of 2,866 families in the earthquake-affected districtsOn May 4, ECAN distributed relief supplies in Thokarpa, Kalika, Fulting Danda, Maneshwora, Piskar, Dhuskun, Lisankhu and Mangkha VDCs of Sindhupalchok. On the same day, relief was also distributed in Sunarpani, Pakarbas, Bhirpani and Gothgaun in Ramechhap and Masel and Saurpani in Gorkha.
On May 5, 6 and 7, relief was distributed in Kiranchok, Pida, Gajuri, Chhatre Deurali, Bhirpani and Jiwanpur VDCs of Dhading.
Likewise, ECAN member Ava Education Foundation and Worldwide Nepal jointly distributed 3,300 tarpaulins, 1,600 tents and more than four tons of foodstuff in more than 30 VDCs of 12 districts.
“Our members have worked day and night to help the country in this time of need,” reads a press statement signed by ECAN President Rajendra Baral on Thursday. “Till date, our members have provided relief materials worth around Rs 5.1 million.”
Additionally, ECAN has pledged that it will provide Rs 51,111 to the family of Suman Bomjan, who was killed in the Great Earthquake of April 25. Bomjan was a journalist associated with the Gorkhapatra Dainik.
