Minister Basnet, who arrived here in Ramechhap district on Thursday to assess the damage in the wake of deadly earthquake and the following aftershocks, said it was irrelevant to take the data of damaged houses as all the houses made of stones and mud have been completely ravaged in the earthquake. “Three big earthquakes have blown lot of houses,” said Minister Basnet, “Even those houses which have not fallen are uninhabitable.”
Speaking at an interaction programme organised by District Administration Office of Ramechhap today, Minister Basnet agreed that the government has failed in its rescue and relief efforts. “We had not taken any precautionary measures though the earthquake was expected,” said Minister Basnet.
