Shruti Karki (Dahal) of Baniyani-4, Jhapa, gave birth to the baby boy with such rare condition in BP Koirala Institute of Health Science at 5:05 am on Saturday. Doctors performed a surgery on Karki to deliver the baby from the abdomen. She had come to BPKIHS for medical treatment four days ago.
The BPKIHS has referred the case to Kathmandu-based Kanti Children’s Hospital. Doctors said that further treatment and operation is needed to place the heart inside the body.
The infant weighing 2.4 kg seems normal despite the condition.
