Haven’t imagined parallel CA meet: Onsari
Vice Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Onsari Gharti Magar, has said that she has not imagined convening a parallel meeting of the Constitution Assembly (CA).

Speaking at an interaction programme of Reporter’s Club on Monday, Magar said a situation where there would be two CA running simultaneously is terrible. She added that she will play a constructive role to avert such situation.
“It is not good for a House speaker or deputy speaker to completely bind herself/himself with a particular faction. Therefore, I am not inclined towards any side. I have been conducting my responsibilities as a neutral personality,” said Magar. “It wouldn’t be possible for the parties that worked together for ending the people’s war and forging peace agreements to continue to seek agreements on petty issues.”
She said the House speaker or deputy speaker should try and avoid the situation where a party wants to walk out of the CA. She opined that she will, however, think about alternative if the ruling parties try to bypass the opposition parties.
Also, Deputy Speaker Magar made it clear that she had not supported the steps taken by CA Speaker Subas Nembang after January 22.
“The speaker of the CA is also a candidate from a certain party,” she said, “Maybe he took such steps as a moral obligation towards his party, but we should try to remain neutral on such issues.”
