NTV’s recruitment process not transparent: FNJ
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has objected to the recruitment process of journalists at Nepal Television accusing the state television of adopting fair and inclusive methodEkantipur Report
FNJ raised objection after the authority remained indifferent to its concern even after drawing the attention of Minister for Information and Communications, Minendra Rijal, regarding the manner and process of recruitment at NTV.
FNJ has warned of retaliation if recruitment examinations are taken against the principle of qualification, fairness and inclusiveness.
Meanwhile, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has also been investigating into the employee recruitment system of NTV following the registration of a case at its office.
The case filed at CIAA has complained that the written examination and inclusive policy have been trampled.
NTV’s employee association and FNJ’s NTV unit have been supporting the recruitment procedure while NTV’s Managing Director and few managerial members are against it.
