The party picked two vice chairmen, one general secretary, three secretaries and a treasurer who will be part of the eight-member office bearers. Leader Post Bahadur Bogati secured maximum number of votes in the polls held today at the party headquarters in Perisdanda. The election committee has informed that Bogati garnered a total of 109 votes and was elected as the vice-chairman.

Likewise, Narayan Kaji Shrestha secured 106 votes and was elected as vice-chairman. Krishna Bahadur Mahara was elected for the post of general secretary with 101 votes and the three secretaries Top Bahdur Rayamajhi, Barsha Man Pun and Giriraj Mani Pokharel secured 100, 97 and 96 votes respectively. Haribol Gajurel, with 101 votes, was elected as the treasurer.

The party’s CC meeting in the morning had created a post of ‘senior member’ for leader Baburam Bhattarai by amending the party statute. As per the amended statute, the senior member will participate in the meeting of the office bearers.

Leader Bhattarai had earlier insisted to remain just a party member and had rejected to remain in party’s Central Committee.
