Firemen and security personnel extinguished the fire that had broken out in the office building of Subisu, an internet and digital TV service provider, in Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Wednesday.

“Internet service around the area has been affected, while the service is intact in other places,” said Sudhir parajuli, president of Subisu Cablenet Pvt Ltd. "Internet service in around 70 percent of the area has been restored. The service around the Baluwataar's office will be resumed from Thursday morning."

The TV service, which is currently down, is expected to resume from Thursday morning.

"The exact estimation of the damage caused by the fire has yet to be ascertained as security personnel have not let anyone enter the building," said Parajuli.

Security personnel from Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and Nepal Army had rushed to the site along with fire trucks shortly after the fire broke out.

There was no human casualty in the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but a worker at Subisu said an electric short-circuit could have caused the fire.
