Two people died of electrocution in Kumakh Rural Municipality in Salyan on Monday.
According to police, two men aged 23 and 26 years, were heading to take part in a victory rally celebrating the win of the rural municipality’s chairman and vice-chairman. The duo had climbed on the roof of a bus they were travelling on when they touched electric live wires hanging overhead.
“13 others were also injured in the incident,” informed DSP Sumit Khadka of the district police office. “The injured have been sent to Chaurhajari-based Mission Hospital for treatment.”
Police said that people who were standing atop the bus were electrocuted at Shantibazar in the rural municipality.
DSP Khadka informed that further details regarding the incident are yet to come.
