Nepal reports 1,180 new Covid-19 cases, 19 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 10,984 and the number of active cases stands at 26,202.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 1,180 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 779,492.
Similarly, 382 people tested positive in a total of 4,177 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,044,859 PCR and 520,165 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,266 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 19 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,984. The number of active cases stands at 26,202.
According to the ministry, 742,306 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,589 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 404 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 294 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 62 in Lalitpur and 48 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 327 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 33 in Province 2, 512 in Bagmati, 125 in Gandaki, 102 in Lumbini, 36 in Karnali and 45 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 12 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 453 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 137-41 in Province 1, 83 in Bagmati, three in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, one in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 1,149 new coronavirus cases and 16 deaths. Similarly, 838 new coronavirus cases and 13 deaths were reported on Sunday and 777 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths were recorded on Saturday.
