With 3,449 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 598,813

Nepal on Wednesday reported 3,449 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 598,813.
Similarly, 895 people tested positive in a total of 4,568 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 3,179,203 PCR and 86,031 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 12,047 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 81 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,179. The number of active cases stands at 80,336.
According to the ministry, 510,298 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 5,768 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 915 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 679 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 151 in Lalitpur and 85 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 646 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 259 in Province 2, 1,392 in Bagmati, 426 in Gandaki, 315 in Lumbini and 204 in Sudurpaschim and 247 in Karnali.
According to the data released by the ministry, 46 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 14 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 1,312 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 375—49 in Province 1, 18 in Province 2; 247in Bagmati, 27 in Gandaki, 19 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali and seven in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 3,870 new cases and 108 Covid-19-related deaths. Similarly, 3,370 new cases and 92 fatalities were reported on Monday and 3,024 new coronavirus cases and 99 fatalities were reported on Sunday.
