Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,298 with 19 more deaths
With 5,706 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 43,213 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 19 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,298. The country also recorded 5,706 new cases and 57 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 328,893 with 43,213 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 282,382 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 1,287 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,495 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,932 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 355 in Lalitpur and 208 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 3,022 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 418 in Gandaki, 1,430 in Lumbini, 180 in Province 1, 282 in Province 2, 219 in Sudurpaschim and 155 in Karnali province.
As of Saturday, 2,488,359 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 14,403 PCR and 566 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Saturday, 401 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. 110 others—63 in Bagmati, 19 in Lumbini, 10 in Province 1, eight in Sudurpaschim, seven in Karnali, two in Province 2 and one in Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday had reported 33 more Covid-19 related fatalities and 5,657 new cases. Similarly, 35 Covid-19 related fatalities and 4,831 new cases were reported on Thursday and 17 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,211 new cases were reported in the country on Wednesday.
