National Covid-19 tally reaches 274,294 with 78 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Tuesday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 2,777.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country reported 78 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 274,294.
According to the ministry, 270,543 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 72 in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 974.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 49 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 46 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, two in Lalitpur and one in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 54 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 13 in Gandaki Province, eight in Lumbini Province, two in Karnali and one in Sudurpaschim Province.
As of Tuesday, 2,170,112 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,127 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had reported three more Covid-19 related fatalities and 73 new cases on Monday. Similarly, one Covid-19 related death and 78 new infections were recorded on Sunday while two deaths and 81 new cases were recorded in the country on Saturday.
