Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,969 with four more deaths; national tally reaches 267,992 with 348 new infections

Nepal on Tuesday reported four more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,969. The country also recorded 348 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 267,992 with 3,764 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 262,259 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 441 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 218 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 159 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 32 in Lalitpur and 27 in Bhaktapur.
As of Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 125,179. While Kathmandu has reported 489 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 158 and 113 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 978 individuals from Bagmati Province, 258 from Lumbini Province, 224 from Province 1, 219 from Province 2, 198 from Gandaki Province, 65 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Tuesday, 2,021,714 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,956 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 17 new infections were reported in Province 1 and 249 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 41, 33, one and seven cases respectively. Province 2 did not report any cases today.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Nawalparasi (West) Kalikot, Rukum (West) and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 161 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 35 others—23 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki and four in Lumbini—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported six Covid-19-related deaths and 322 new infections. Similarly, five deaths and 266 new cases were recorded in the country on Sunday and six deaths and 240 new cases on Saturday.
