Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,965 with six more deaths; national tally reaches 267,644 with 322 new infections

Nepal on Monday reported six more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,965. The country also recorded 322 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 267,644 with 3,861 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 261,818 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 374 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 163 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 141 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 15 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 124,961. While Kathmandu has reported 489 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 157 and 113 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 977 individuals from Bagmati Province, 257 from Lumbini Province, 224 from Province 1, 218 from Province 2, 197 from Gandaki Province, 65 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Monday, 2,016,758 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,306 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 11 new infections were reported in Province 1, five in Province 2, and 205 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 57, 39 and five cases respectively. Karnali Province did not report any cases today.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Nawalparasi (West) Kalikot, Rukum (West) and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 161 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 34 others—22 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki, three in Lumbini and one in Province 1—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported five more Covid-19-related deaths and 266 new cases. Similarly, six more Covid-19-related fatalities and 240 new cases were recorded on Saturday and five Covid-19-related deaths and 270 new infections were reported on Friday.
