Gorkha
Construction of a motorable bridge over Naulikola at Lapubensi, ward 7 of Dharche Rural Municipality, has stalled. The contract for the bridge, awarded to Suryodaya Construction in mid-July 2022 with a deadline of July 2024, is only 55 percent complete.
Pillars on both sides are completed, and diversion pipes have been installed to allow water flow during the rainy season.
Locals say the incomplete bridge disrupts travel to northern areas during the monsoon, with no alternative routes available. The bridge, costing around Rs43.5 million, will be 35 metres long and 8.4 metres wide.
Once completed, it will ease access to Machhakhola in Dharche and Chumanuwri rural municipalities.
