Newly appointed Gandaki Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey and two new ministers took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.

Province Head Dilliraj Bhatta administered the oath to Chief Minister Pandey, Minister for Social Development and Health Bindu Kumar Thapa, and Minister for Economic Affairs Takraj Gurung. Thapa has also been assigned the role of Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Water Supply.

Earlier today, Province Head Bhatta appointed Pandey to the position as per Article 168 (3) of the constitution following the Supreme Court’s order.

It’s Pandey’s second stint as chief minister. On April 27, 2023, Pandey was appointed chief minister of the province. He resigned a year later without facing the provincial assembly following a change in the coalition at the centre.
