Three die in separate landslides in Pokhara

Separate landslides in Pokhara on Wednesday night have claimed the lives of at least three people leaving five injured and a three-year-old missing.
According to the police, a 35-year-old woman died in a landslide at Bhalam in Pokhara last night while her 45-year-old husband who was rescued from the incident site died during the course of his treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital. Their three-year-old son has gone missing while another son, aged 9, has sustained injuries.
Likewise, a 42-year-old man was trapped in a landslide at Bhanjyang Namunatole with his family on Thursday night. He was later rescued and taken to Manipal Teaching Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
“The man died while undergoing treatment at the Manipal Hospital,” said Pokhara Police spokesperson DSP Subas Hamal, “His 14-year-old daughter, who was injured in the incident, has been discharged from the hospital while his wife and two sons are staying with their relatives after being rescued from the landslide debris.”
Meanwhile, three people of the same family suffered injuries in another landslide that occured at Baseri in the metropolis.
