Nepal will kick off their 2024 ACC U-19 Men’s Asia Cup against Sri Lanka on November 29.
The U-19 Asia Cup is scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 8 in the United Arab Emirates.
Nepal have been drawn alongside defending champions Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in Group B.
India, Pakistan, hosts UAE and Japan are in Group A.
Nepal next play their group match of the 50-over tournament against Bangladesh on December 1 before facing Afghanistan two days later.
The group winners and runners-up from each group will progress into the semi-finals, which will take place on December 6. The final will be held on December 8.
Holders Bangladesh won their maiden U-19 Asia Cup title in December last year, defeating the UAE by 195 runs in the final.
Nepal U-19 men’s team, who qualified to the Asia Cup as the champions of the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup, are making their ninth straight appearance in the Asia Cup.
However, they have made it past the group stage only once, in 2017, when they finished in the second position and above India in their group. That Nepal’s U-19 squad included the likes of current national team members and star cricketers Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Aasif Sheikh, Anil Sah and Rohit Paudel and also beat India on the way to the last four, which they lost to Afghanistan by seven wickets.
UAE and Japan qualified to the Asia Cup as Premier Cup runners-up and third placed team.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka got direct berths to the Asia Cup as full member nations.
