Folk-rock outfit Nepathya is all set to perform in the US, in what will be their fifth concert tour in the country.

Nepathya will start the tour with a show at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas, on June 9.

“We are delighted to host Nepathya in Dallas,” said DJ Momo of the organising group. “We have been pursuing this opportunity since 2015, when Nepathya had come for their show in New York. However, due to tour management issues, it could not materialise. We then went to meet the band’s management when they were in San Francisco in 2016. The show was agreed upon and our team is delighted to share this joy with the Dallas based Nepali diaspora.” The show in Dallas in being organised by DT and Momo Entertainment.

Nepathya first travelled to the US in 2004, when they performed a show in Phoenix and Washington DC. Since then, the band has been to the US on three other occasions and has performed in the cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York and San Francisco.

According to a release from the band’s publicist, Nepalaya, the band will engage in some recording consultancy, before performing their second show at the Royale Boston on June 24. The Boston show is being hosted jointly by Jatra Nepal and Boston Tamu Samaj. Both these shows will be part of Nepathya’s silver jubilee celebration.

Speaking before the band left for the tour, Nepathya’s Amrit Gurung said, “we have been travelling in and beyond Nepal as part of this celebration. It is humbling to receive such love and support from our listeners everywhere we perform. We look forward to sharing our musical journey with our listeners in Boston and Dallas.” After completing their two-city tour, Nepathya will return home on June 27.
