The preparation for the Miss SEE (Secondary Education Examination) beauty pageant which is slated to be held on April 28 is currently ongoing in Dharan. Thirty-three participants, from various districts of Eastern Development Region, who recently sat for their SEE, are vying for the crown.
In preparation for the gala event, participants have been engaged in various rounds of personality development workshops and trainings, carried out under the guidance of personalities from various sectors, according to the organisers. The contestants were given etiquette training by the professors of Dharan College of Management, as well as workshop on language and literature. The contestants were also given workshops on organic farming, time management, saving and industrial management through industrial visits.
Speaking about event, the chairman of Dharan Jaycees, Sandeep Shakya, said, “We have organised this pageant to help develop confidence among young girls so that they can in turn become responsible citizens and serve as a role model for other girls.” He added, “The youth are very energetic, talented and hardworking so we are providing them this platform to utilise their talent and learn new things.”
The choreographer of the event, Lalit Rai, added, “The contestants are great and have knowledge about wide variety of subjects, so the competition is going to be fierce.”
The workshops and trainings will culminate in a final event slated for Friday in Dharan.
