Peace video and photography contest in Sept
A photography and video competition, titled Peace on Earth, is being organised to mark International Peace Day on September 21.A photography and video competition, titled Peace on Earth, is being organised to mark International Peace Day on September 21. The competition will be a nation-wide peace video and photography contest which urges photographers from all over the country to put forth their world views on peace.
Photos and videos on the theme ‘peace’ will be judged by a panel of celebrated film makers, photographers, media personalities, and experts. Two winners will get a chance to intern with veteran film maker and director, Tsering Rhitar Sherpa of the Uma, Mukundo, and Kalo Pothi fame.
“The nation-wide peace video and photo competition is designed to echo the message of collaboration, trust and unity among people. We are looking for submissions that are creative, backed up with a strong story, and establishes peace as the backbone of development,” Ayush Joshi, communications coordinator at Search for Common Ground, the organisers.
He also added that the deadlines for submission will be Sept 7. Special screenings of the 5 minute video, and a photo exhibition of the top 30 entries will be organised in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur to occasion the International Peace Day on Sept 11.
