Austria-based Nepali writer Ravichandra Bhattarai’s book Trishna, a novel, has hit the bookstores. Based on the hardships that illegal Nepali migrants have to undergo, Trishna tells true stories of Nepalis who are compelled to travel overseasfor employment.
Most of the stories in the anthologyare set in Europe and tell the stories of sufferings of Nepalis there.
“With this book, I want to show the struggles of Nepali diaspora and I want to render a message to the aspirant migrants, especially youths, who dream of making their dreams true travelling to Europe; I want to tell them the actual reality of it and how bitter the truth is,” says Bhattarai. “I hope the novel will inspire Nepali youths to do something on their own, based in Nepal.”
The novel has been published by Ashyar Creation, and is priced at Rs 350.
