Valentine release for Megha
Samjhana Upreti Rauniar’s Megha—with Namrata Shrestha, Raymon Das Shrestha and Siddhartha Koirala—will be released on February 14
The much-anticipated upcoming film Megha, starring Namrata Shrestha and Raymon Das Shrestha, is set to hit the screen on February 14 this year, according to a statement from the team. Directed by Samjhana Upreti Rauniar, and produced by Sabasta Entertainment, the release of the film was designed to coincide with Valentine’s Day on account of it’s being a love story and therefore ‘very appropriate’ for the occasion, says executive producer Bikas Rauniar.
Megha, which also stars actors Siddhartha Koirala and Bhintuna Joshi in significant roles, delves into the life of a girl from Kathmandu who is torn between two men—her husband and another.
Megha (Namrata Shrestha) is married to Ishan (Raymon Dash Shrestha), but is in love with Gaurab (Siddhartha Koirala), and the film explores the complexities that emerge therein. “The film basically depicts the pressures of a busy urban lifestyle and its impact on marital relationships,” the team has said. Another of the film’s draws will be the soundtrack, composed as it has been by Gopal Yonjon.
Though this is director Rauniar’s first feature film, she has been working in various capacities in the film industry for the past decade or so. A graduate from TU’s College of Film Studies, she has been the assistant director in films like Mana Mandir and Mama Ghar, as well as worked for Indian director and producer Madhur Bhandarkar’s company during the production of the TV series Heroine Zindagi Ke Panno Se. Besides, she has also held stints assisting in a number of Hindi films as well as at Balaji Telefilms.
