The popular comedy-based reality show, Comedy Champion is back again with its second season. The show which is produced by Three Production was one of the most endeared reality-television series of Kantipur Television last year. And the organisers of the show are hopeful that this year, the show will be even bigger and better.

The homegrown reality production provides a platform for upcoming stand-up comics to show their comic talent in front of the audience. Like the previous year, a panel of eminent personalities—including Santosh Panta, Manoj Gajurel, Pradip Bhattarai and Reecha Sharma—will be judging the show and guiding the selected contestants.

“Comedy shows have always had an audience in Nepal and in recent years, the viewership has steadily grown. And we believe for young people who are looking for a platform to do comedy, Comedy Champions was able to give them good exposure and this year too we hope to encourage the people who want to pursue comedy,” said Rima Bishwokarma, the host and executive producer of the TV show.

The show will air every week, on Fridays and Saturdays, on Kantipur Television at 9 pm. Audiences can also watch the show on YouTube, on the OSR Digital channel.

“Last year we received a lot of appreciation from the audience, even though it was our first time and we were experimenting with the show,” says Keki Adhikari, actor and also the executive producer of the show. “Since the audience is expecting a lot from us because of the success of the previous season, we are working to deliver a quality show that everyone will enjoy.”

The last season of the reality show was won by Himesh Panta, who along with the title won a cash prize of Rs2,500,000 and also a brand new car.
