On Monday, the Muslim community across the country joyfully celebrated Bakra-Eid (Eid-al-Adha), one of the most significant Islamic festivals.
In Kathmandu, members of the Muslim community gathered for prayers at Jame and Kashmiri Takiya Masjid mosques, two of the city’s largest shrines.
Popularly known as Bakra Eid, the festival is a testament to the values of love and generosity, marking it as the second biggest festival for Muslims after Eid-ul-Fitr.
The government has declared a public holiday today to mark the festival.
Here are some photos of people praying captured by the Post’s photojournalists Deepak KC and Safal Prakash Shrestha at Jame and Kashmiri Takiya mosques in Kathmandu.
