The Muslim community across the country are celebrating Bakar-Eid (Eid al-Adha), one of the biggest Islamic festivals, with joy and gaiety.

People from the Muslim community across the nation gathered in mosques on Thursday for prayers.

Popularly known as Bakra Eid, the festival is also a celebration of love and generosity. Bakra Eid is the second biggest festival of Muslims after Eid-ul-Fitr.

The government has declared a public holiday today on the occasion of the festival.
