The Marigold Flower Cultivation Group had planted the flowers in view of the upcoming Tihar, the five-day Nepali festival of lights.
Though the flowers are used in the wedding ceremony and other religious works at the present, rest of the flowers will be used in Tihar, Chairman Ishwor Kumar Shrestha said.
Albeit their sells target was 30,000 garlands, the demand stood at 45,000.
The garden has attracted all the people in the area.
For the country’s floriculture industry, Tihar is the busiest time of the year when sales go boom.
Marigolds are the most highly sought flowers during Tihar though all types of flowers are sold in massive quantities in the market.
Marigold flowers are popularly used as offerings and decorations during Tihar.
