Traffic chaos in Valley after Dahal-Nepal faction organises rallies from different parts

Traffic has been affected from Tuesday morning as rallies started from different parts heading towards Bhrikutimandap where the faction of Nepal Communist Party led by chairs Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Nepal is holding a mass meeting.
The Dahal-Nepal faction announced nationwide mass protests on Tuesday in a show of strength denouncing the KP Sharma Oli’s government’s move of dissolving the House of Representatives on December 20 .
After the party set up a podium blocking the road section in Pradarshani Marg on Tuesday morning, traffic in the area has been diverted from Padmadya Mode and Bhrikutimandap area according to Traffic Police.
Dahal, Nepal and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal are scheduled to address the mass meeting at 1 pm, according to the party.
Shyam Krishan Adhikari, spokesperson at the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division said protesters have already started to gather at almost all the junctions of the Valley and started rallies from Koteshwor, Lagankhel, Tripureshwor, Maitighar, Thamel, Naxal, Chabahil towards Pradarshani Marga.
The traffic police have asked people in the Valley not to come out of their homes with their vehicles.
“There are many rallies and protests inside the Ring Road. People are requested to leave their homes only after inquiring about the traffic situation after calling the traffic police in 103,” said Adhikari.
He also requested the public to travel on foot instead of boarding or riding vehicles inside the Ring Road.
Traffic Police have mobilized all its 1,500 personnel to control the traffic in the Valley.
“We are not in a condition to open the jams because public flow is high, so we are diverting vehicles,” Adhikari told the Post.
