Acharya elected new FNJ chairman

Govinda Acharya has been appointed new chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ), the umbrella body of Nepali journalists.
Acharya defeated his closest rival Tirtha Koirala by 105 votes. He secured 732 votes against Koirala's 627. Other Chairperson candidate Ujir Magar secured 54, Indra Bahadur Raut secured 20 and Bhawana Bidhrohi secured 6 votes.
Acharya panel also clinched the office bearers seats.
Newly elected Acharya had previously worked as FNJ's vice chairperson.
