Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu Chief SSP Bikram Thapa informed that party Vice-chairman Bishnu Poudel and Politburo member Mustakin Ansari have been arrested from Kathmandu on Monday for their alleged involvement in carrying out explosions in various schools in the Capital on September 20.
Police had earlier arrested two persons in connection to the incident.
Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) had exploded outside two schools in the Capital last Tuesday, unleashing terror among the public, especially guardians.
Though the schools suffered minor damages no injuries were reported. And there were reports of suspicious objects in and around six other schools in Kathmandu and Lalitpur, causing scare among people. Security personnel had safely disposed off the bombs.
The IEDs exploded outside Aakash Deep Higher Secondary School and Manakamana Higher Secondary School in Jorpati while suspicious objects were found in Rai School in Boudha, East Pool School and Ambassador School in Jorpati, Kantipur English School in Maharajgunj and Kanchenjunga English School in Dallu and Radiant Readers’ Academy in Sanepa.
