At an interaction organised by Nepal Students' Union at Trichandra Campus on Sunday, General Secretary Sitaula, who had a vital role on bringing the new constitution, said that as lower house of the parliament also has mixed electoral system, the country would not see stability.
According to him, the Nepali Congress had proposed only direct election in the lower house and proportional in the upper house, but it was disagreed by other. It will consequently foil stability in the country, he said.
"With the new constitution, the country should have been directed to economic prosperity. Political stability is vital for economic prosperity. As there is no political stability, nation's economy is deteriorating," he said.
