KOICA organises workshop on judicial development of Nepal
KOICA) and Judicial Research and Training Institute organised a three-day workshop on “High Level Partnership Program on Judicial Development (Nepal)” at the Himalayan Hotel in Lalitpur.Ekantipur Report
Five members of JTRI delegation led by Prof. Kwon Ki-Hoon were in Kathmandu from April 17, 2015 to organize the workshop. During the first two days of the workshop, ten participants from different courts of Nepal, National Judicial Academy (NJA) and Ministry of Law and Justice participated in the series of lectures on a number of issues in the context of a judicial system of Korea. The lectures included Juvenile Protection Trail, Judicial Information System, e-Learning System, Family Trail, e-Litigation in Korea, Mediation System.
During the workshop, the participants shared various views on the judicial system of two countries and how the Korean judicial practices could be adapted and transformed creatively in Nepalese context.
Likewise previous participants of the workshops, who attended 2012, 2013 and 2014 program, were also invited to share their learning experiences from the program.
The previous version of the workshop was held in Korea in 2013 and 2014 respectively and 41 Judges and High Level Officers in Nepal had participated in the program.
