Nepal’s Horaa Esports has reached the grand finals of the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 in Paris after an impressive performance in Group B, widely regarded as the tournament’s “group of death”.

Horaa Esports secured a direct place in the finals after finishing among the top four in a fiercely contested 16-team Group B. The World Cup features 32 teams, with the top five teams from each of the two groups, a total of 10 teams, earning automatic qualification for the grand finals.

The Group B competition was particularly intense, with several of the world’s best-known and strongest teams battling for a place in the finals. After 12 matches, Hora Esports finished fourth with 98 points, including one Chicken Dinner, the PUBG Mobile term for a match victory.

Indonesia’s Team Vitality topped the group with 148 points and two Chicken Dinners. Türkiye’s IDA Esports finished second with 108 points after winning three matches, while India’s GodLike Esports took third with 105 points and one Chicken Dinner.

Horaa Esports finished ahead of established teams, including former world champions S2G Esports of Türkiye and Thailand’s eArena.

All five members of the Horaa Esports roster played a key role in the team’s qualification. The lineup consists of Suraj Lama, known as “nofear”; Aakash Sotang Rai, “Skyhoraa”; Shital Rai, “Sleepyyhoraa”; Ugyen Tshopel Lama, “MafiaNinja”; and Prabesh Gurung, “HaitDami”.

The team now faces its biggest test of the tournament in the grand finals. The finals will be held from August 14 to 16 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, with 16 teams competing for the world title. Six of the 16 finalists have yet to be determined.

The World Cup has a total prize pool of $3.025 million, with the champion set to take home $500,000.

By reaching the finals, Horaa Esports has already secured prize money equivalent to around Rs90 million, meaning the team has guaranteed a substantial payout even if it finishes 16th in the grand finals.

Horaa Esports now enters the finals carrying the hopes of Nepal’s growing esports community as it targets a world championship title. It's run in Paris also marks a significant moment for Nepali sport, with the five players set to take on some of the world’s strongest PUBG Mobile teams on one of the biggest stages in competitive gaming.
