Nepal clinch T20I series against Malaysia for second time in a row
The Nepali women’s cricket team sealed a 3–2 series victory after defeating Malaysia by five wickets in the final match, repeating their 2023 triumph by the same margin.

Nepal registered a five-wicket victory over Malaysia in the fifth and final Twenty20 International on Wednesday, clinching the five-match series 3–2 and securing back-to-back T20I series wins against the same opponent.
Having levelled the series 2–2 with a six-wicket win in the fourth match, Nepal carried the momentum into the decider to once again outplay Malaysia—mirroring their 3–2 win during the 2023 tour in Kuala Lumpur.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Malaysia managed 103 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Winifred Duraisingam top-scored with 40 runs off 46 balls, while Mahirah Izzati Ismail contributed 19 and Aina Hamizah Hasim added 15.
For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar was the standout performer with the ball, taking three wickets in the final over to finish with figures of 3 for 16 from four overs. Rajmati Airee also impressed, claiming three wickets for 15 runs from three overs, while Rachana Chaudhari picked up one wicket.

Chasing 104, Nepal reached the target in 18 overs. Vice-captain Puja Mahato led the scoring with 23 off 24 balls, while Rubi Podar struck a steady 26 off 25. Former captain Rubina Chhetri remained unbeaten on 15, alongside Kabita Joshi, who was not out on 1, to see Nepal home.
Somshana Khadka made 11, Kabita Kunwar scored 14 from 19, and Indu Barma contributed 8 from 13 deliveries. For Malaysia, Alia, Mahirah, and Hasim took one wicket each.
The victory marks another milestone for Nepal’s women’s team, showcasing consistency and depth in their T20I performance against regional rivals.
