Nepal’s international taekwondo referee Raju Chhetry will officiate the World Ranking (G2) 2025 US Open Taekwondo Championship, which is taking place in Reno, Nevada, the United States from February 14 to 16.
Organised by World Taekwondo and USA Taekwondo in collaboration with the US Olympic Committee, the championship will witness participation from 2,500 taekwondo athletes, including Olympians and world champions, representing 50 countries.
Chhetry previously officiated at the 2024 US Open Taekwondo Championship in Reno, the World Ranking (G1) Kimunyong Cup and 2023 Seongnam Open in Korea, the World Ranking (G2) 2023 US Open in Las Vegas and Japan Open in Osaka.
Chhetry is a former president of NRN Korea and a distinguished taekwondo athlete. He clinched the gold medal at the World Ranking (G2) Korea Open in 2008.
Recognising his outstanding contributions to sports, the Korean government honoured him with honorary citizenship in 2013.
